OVERVIEW
The third annual Greater Richmond Challenge will offer participants a hands-on opportunity to explore our region’s successes and obstacles for community, quality of life and economic development across all four jurisdictions – Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, and Richmond. The Challenge is a unique applied research project that will allow deeper understanding of the issues that our region faces. This is a chance to experience, develop and share new knowledge so that we can build on our successes.
The Challenge will bring together businesses, governments, community leaders and residents further equipping the region for revitalization in areas that are important to our region’s development such as: Crime and Public Safety, Education, Transportation, Workforce Development and Workforce Housing. Participants will be teamed up with others who are also passionate about moving our region forward. They will explore all four jurisdictions and their many facets related to strengths and opportunities in one of the five key community satisfaction areas. The goal - celebrate who we are and insist on more. Through the day long visual and experiential tour of our region, teams will collect their observations, insights and ideas to help move Greater Richmond forward. The Challenge will also assist in the development of emerging leaders who can be linked directly to these ongoing topics. The future of our region depends on vision, communication, loyalty, timing, risk and trust. The Challenge will incorporate a little of all of the above. |
